Alice Waters' newest companion in the crusade to change the way American children eat is the Hyatt hotel chain. Today the Chicago-based company, which has 492 properties in 45 countries, is rolling out an all-organic “For Kids By Kids” children’s menu in its full-service hotels and resorts in the U.S. and the Caribbean. The menu is a $16.95 prix fixe, and it is the same in all 130 of these properties: 1) romaine lettuce hearts with carrot curls and a radish rose; 2) grilled chicken with pesto, roasted potatoes and cherry tomatoes; 3) strawberry and orange slices sweetened with honey and served in a real orange cup, and no plastic toy. According to the press release, everything is sourced exclusively from organic farms across the country.
