Mission%20Rock%20Resort%20Logo.jpgPeter Osborne's remodel of the old Kelly's Mission Rock/Decks eyesore cost over two million dollars, and his new Mission Rock Resort & Oyster Bar is just about ready to start shucking oysters for real out in Mission Bay. Osbourne has already made a name for his mammoth ballpark-adjacent trifecta of MoMo's, Pete's Tavern, and Pedro's Cantina. The newest member of the family is no lightweight. Affectionately known as "The Rock," he enters the world kicking and screaming at 10,000 square feet with seating for over 300 divided amongst an outdoor deck, two indoor dining rooms, a 23-seat oyster bar, and several interior bars. There is no mechanical bull seating, but Osbourne did dress things up in subtle tones of blue and yellow throughout in honor of his beloved Cal Bears.

The menus for dinner, the daytime cafe, brunch, beer, and cocktails just went live on the website, so there's proof of an ample raw bar with frozen pina coladas to wash it all down. Osborne is on the sustainable seafood boat here, and there are local draft beers (Lagunitas, Devil's Canyon, etc.), and desserts including Mr. & Mrs. Miscellaneous ice cream. "The Rock" opens for business on Friday at 7 a.m. 3 p.m., and you can visit daily from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. thereafter. Let us know what you think of this baby, by dropping thoughts below in the comments or over the EaterWire.
