THE BRUNCH BUNCH — Pig & Pie (2962 24th St.) has thrown its hat — porkpie, obviously — into the weekend brunch ring. Green eggs and ham is on the menu. [Tablehopper]

COMING ATTRACTIONS — This year's Eat Real Fest takes place September 21-23 at Jack London Square in Oakland with an expected attendance of 150,000 (more than double last year's estimates). Basic entrance to the truck and cart-laden event remains free, but for amenities including a "semi-private bathroom," a LivingSocial special offers VIP tickets for $39 (regularly $100) to its members. LISTICLES — Ladyhopper takes some of the anxiety out of blind/Internet dates with some suggestions on where to meet. Among them: High praise for the "flattering lighting" at the Lone Palm (3394 22nd St.) and the sage fries and "fun vibe" at Southern Pacific Brewing (620 Treat). [7X7]

OMFG CUPCAKES — American Cupcake (1919 Union) hosts an event called "Dangerous Books for Girls: The Power of Romance Novels" from 7-9 p.m. on September 20 to discuss such topics as "how romance novels such as 50 Shades of Grey are actually inspiring and empowering." The event is free, includes a free drink and cupcake, and RSVP is required. [EaterWire]
