PRESIDIO — Dixie (1 Letterman Drive) launches the first of what hopefully will be monthly bourbon dinners at 6 p.m. on October 15. Reservations ($120) include two pre-dinner drinks, a bottle of Dixie Blend Angel's Envy, and a three-course, bourbon-focused menu by chef Joseph Humphrey are available here. [EaterWire]

THE MISSION — Bender's (806 S. Van Ness) now has a donut bacon cheeseburger for a limited time. The main difference between this and what is comparable at Straw or Little Griddle is a side of tater tots. [Uptown Almanac]

'BUCKSWIRE — La Boulange, which of course has joined forces with Starbucks, has a new app for iPhone and Android. Features include the ability to check specials and order food up to 20 days in advance or 20 minutes before you need it. [EaterWire]

COMING ATTRACTIONS — Almanac Beer Co. heads to Nojo (231 Franklin) for a paired five-course Japanese dinner from 5:30- 10 p.m. on September 24. The menu features dishes not on the regular menu, including nikujaga (Japanese pot roast). Reservations ($75) are required and available here. [EaterWire]
