Adam Mesnick's 1058 Hoagie is soft-opening today, around the corner from his first baby,Deli Board. This birth is perfectly and fortuitously timed with Eat A Hoagie Day. "I woke up this morning and found out it's Hoagie Day," says Mesnick. "Today is the day, we have to open." Just 100 hoagies will be sold, in preparation for a grand opening on Monday. The small shop has eight seats inside and room for 10 standing, so it will be mostly a takeout operation, offering 11 hoagies a day, along with soups and salads. Where Deli Board's sandwich leanings are Jewish, 1058 Hoagie is pure Italian, and built for speed. Major ingredients are Italian cold cuts, proprietary seeded rolls, and housemade sauces. They've also got these handy order slips, available online, which you can print and fill out ahead of time to expedite your order. At the start, hours will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday, with potential for expansion later. Take a look at the full opening menu below.
