It's time to give your liver a pep talk. The 6th annual SF Cocktail Week kicks off today and continues on through September 23 with all manner of seminars, events, cocktail pairing dinners, and parties involving booze and the bartenders who pour it. The list of events is a lot to wade through, and you'll want to avoid the items that are sheer shill stages for specific liquor brands. Here now, our top picks for the coming week (minus the sold-out opening party tonight). Hangover included.

Tuesday: Intoxication Ladies
Kate Bolton of Maven, Vita Simone of the The New Easy, Priscilla Young of Brasserie S&P and twelve other female bartenders will present a cocktail indicative of their style tomorrow night at Rye. Tickets.

Tuesday: Spirited Food Trucks
A rare opportunity to enjoy the (normally beer and wine only) SoMa StrEAT Food Park with bartenders matching each bite to a specific cocktail. Tickets.

Wednesday: Italian Cocktail Hour
For fans of Lady Tablehopper, Marcia Gagliardi hosts an Italian drink and mingle fest at Blackbird, set to Italian-style cocktails and Fatted Calf charcuterie. Tickets.

Wednesday: Best of the West
Local talent, Kevin Diedrich of Jasper's Corner Tap & Kitchen will face off against bartenders from San Diego to Seattle in a "light-hearted" cocktail competition at Tradition. Tickets.

Saturday: Cocktail Tour of Union Square
Entertaining spirits educator Danny Ronen joins Avital Tours to lead a bar crawl through Union Square's best haunts. Take our advice and get the $16 food add on to soak up the many cocktails promised. Tickets.

Saturday: California Altered State Fair
The men of Jupiter Olympus host a raucus party with carny themed cocktails like the Salt-Water Taffy Old Fashioned paired to "the fried crap of the country fairs." There will be a petting zoo. Do you need to know anything more? Tickets.

Sunday: St. George's Finale, Cops and Robbers
How many chances do you get to be shuttled over to St. George's Spirits in Alameda while they've got live music and food from Tacolicious, Breads of India and Five Ten Burger. Not to mention: cocktails and "games". This one will sell out, so get on it quickly. Tickets.
