Menu highlights: Pulled pork ($12/pint), brisket ($16/lb.), wings ($10/dozen), ribs ($23/rack or $12/half), and Kurobuta pork belly ($10). COMING ATTRACTIONS — This week's installment of NightLife at California Academy of Sciences (55 Music Concourse) is dedicated to mushrooms. Fungus Among Us features a mushroom-infused cocktail demo, instructionals on foraging and cultivating mushrooms, and a special exhibit by Far West Fungi and takes place from 6-10 p.m. on September 27. Tickets are available by calling (888) 670-4433; the online ticketing system is currently down, but check back. [EaterWire]

THE BRUNCH BUNCH — Meadowood chef Chris Kostow and staff made up one-third of what was dubbed "the ultimate brunch trio" at last week's Feast fest in Portland. After finishing dinner service and hopping a late-night private plane, Kostow and crew whipped up a mid-morning meal at the picturesque home of Stumptown Coffee founder Duane Sorenson. Neil Young, playing on the stereo, was named as the third part of the trio. [BonAp]

PRESIDIO — Presidio Social Club (563 Ruger) hosts its own Oktoberfest with a Bavarian-themed party on the back deck from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on September 30 with beer wursts, hot links, and all beef knockwursts; a sausage trio and pint of beer will be $10. There will also be sausage and sauerkraut plates on special for all of October. [EaterWire]
