Earlier this month news broke that big shot New York restaurateur Ken Friedman and his partner in crime chef April Bloomfield, of NYC restaurants The Spotted Pig, The Breslin, and others, are taking over iconic bar Tosca Cafe. Today Friedman reveals in an interview that like every other San Francisco diner hungry for Bloomfield's brand of upscale pub grub, patron saint of food Alice Waters approves!
Friedman says of Waters: "I love her. I've known her forever. She was the very first person who called me yesterday when the thing came out about Tosca in San Francisco — it must have been 6 in the morning her time. She was like, 'I am so happy that I am crying! I want to be involved.' Alice Waters wanting to get involved with something of mine? I think we can work that out!"
