New Izakaya Corners Fillmore and Geary

State Bird Provisions is about to get a new small-plate neighbor on the block, as Japanese izakaya Hashibiro Kou (1560 Fillmore) gets ready for a March debut. This corner of Fillmore and Geary was previously home to Nan California Korean Kitchen, which relocated there in June 2011. A website for Hashibiro Kou is advertised in the window, but the site itself is just a place marker for now.

The closure of Nan Korean Kitchen does not appear to have affected the owners' nearby business Holy Dog (1552 Fillmore), so there's still some good quick-service food to be had within stumbling distance of a late concert at the Fillmore.
