The American Opens For Real In Mission: Expect Grilled Cheese Traffic Jams

Photo: Facebook

2400 Harrison Street, The Mission
Status: Soft Open Now

The second, Mission edition of American Grilled Cheese Kitchen will have another soft-opening today from 9 a.m. until they sell out. Owners Heidi Gibson and Nate Pollak are coming in hot with some Mission specials: "Peanut Butter n Jelly Muffins, Jalapeno and Bacon Biscuits, Ham n Leek Mac n Cheese....lots of grilled cheese for the Mission!" Regular hours, as listed here, begin tomorrow, with a plan to start daily service, and dinner service, in late February.

Now, Pollak adds a bit on the table situation, or lack thereof: "Our walnut tables have still not arrived from the fabricator, so we've got plenty of chairs for folks to sit at, but no tables! :-). They are supposed to arrive on Friday, so hopefully we'll have them all setup for the weekend, else by next week at the latest. We do have a few temporary tables set up for the next few days, and folks can still sit at the bar, or of course do take-out. During our soft opening, a lot of people just took a couple of chairs and made their own 'tables."

Check out the full menu right here on The American's website, and do send early reports over the tip line.
