Chris Pastena is getting ready to roll out one of his many East Bay projects next week with the grand opening of Lungomare (1 Broadway) in Oakland's Jack London Square. Recall that the 200-seat space was previously home to Miss Pearl's Jam House and now will feature cuisine from the five villages of the Cinque Terre region of Northwestern Italy, made from as many house-made ingredients as possible.
The dinner menu (download link) is mainly divided into antipasti ($6-12), pizza ($10-14), pasta $12-18), entrees ($19-23), and sides ($6). Entrees include a Ligurian fish stew with clams, mussels, and sea bass; monkfish wrapped in speck with celery root, potato, and salsa verde; and Berkshire porchetta with caramelized sunchokes, farro, and chard. There are also cured items and crudo, as well as a daily whole fish special, presently a choice of branzino, dourade, or Thai snapper. The grand opening takes place on February 7.
