Canadian journalist Alec Scott dropped in on the Bay Area for a foodie tour, and while he was surprised to find such curious customs as Bakesale Betty's line, the popularity of sorrel, and a game of "guess the name" where Traci des Jardins was included, he couldn't help but be seduced by "toothsome" B-Side BBQ ribs, "decadent" Humphry Slocombe ice cream and dinner at James Syhabout's Commis, which he dubbed "one of the best meals I've ever had."
