Price Hikes

BenuSign12.jpgIt's now 8% more expensive to dine at Benu, with chef Corey Lee raising the price of a tasting menu from $180 to $195. As The Price Hike's Ryan Sutton notes, that would mean the cost of dinner for two with tax and tip would be $502 (or $888 with wine pairings). Lee says he's actually making less-than-standard margins, even with the increase: "I raised the menu to $195 because I'm not ready to raise it to $225, which is what it should be...[labor and food costs] are two of many costs that are increasing at a pace much higher than what the public is ready to pay for these kinds of restaurant experiences."
