Bitters, Bock & Rye has been a bar with bites since March, but as of Saturday, it's now a full-fledged and full-sized restaurant, with a nearly 300-person capacity spread across a front bar room, dining room, and lounge/private event room. As previously discussed, there's a menu of BBQ and other Southern fare from Front Porch alum Mark Goodger, as well as cocktails and 14 beers on tap. A house-brewed beer program should be online by the end of the year, with the brewer still to be determined.
One of the most notable facts about Bitters, Bock & Rye is that they plan to serve food until 1 am every night, a rarity on the Polk Street bar strip. Owners Ron and Holly Kirkpatrick, Shannon Henne, and Jon Boswell plan on introducing brunch in a couple of weeks, to be followed by lunch in late 2013. For now, hours are 4 pm-2 am on weekdays and 9 am-2 am on weekends, when they open up early for sports games on their nine flat-screens.
