Originally scheduled to bounce back from its renovation in mid-September, State Bird Provisions has been closed for a month longer than scheduled as Stuart Brioza and Nicole Krasinski expand into the space next door to make room for more tables. Now, their reopening day has finally arrived: as Inside Scoop reports, State Bird is scheduled to open its doors on Friday, kicking off a reservation-free soft-opening weekend when only walk-ins will be accepted. Depending on one's hacking ability and/or tolerance for standing in line, that could be a good or bad thing.

Meanwhile, the restaurant's reservations will officially open up tomorrow at 1 pm, when they'll begin taking bookings over the phone or via Urbanspoon. Needless to say, those will go quickly (they only book 60 days out), so set an alarm. The renovation will feature two new tables for big groups of 6-8 (the restaurant previously maxed out at parties of four), with a choice of two special set menus—one of which offers every single thing they're serving that night. Those can be booked for timeslots at 5:30-6 pm and 8-8:30 pm. Expect more info and photos of the new space, which will also include a new raw bar and the restaurant's first-ever host stand, later this week.
