Anyone who's lived in New York City is intimately familiar with the halal cart, a Midtown lunch institution serving up plates of smoky chicken or beef gyro meat over rice and salad, with yogurt and hot sauce on top. Now, the FiDi has its very own halal cart from owner Asad Amimi, parking at 445 Market on weekdays. Tasting Table's critic, Jonathan Kauffman, is a fan: "It's not haute cuisine. It is hot, cheap, fast and redolent with cumin and coriander." [Tasting Table]
