Rich Spices Meet Negra Modelo at Daring Pairings

Chef Telmo Faria braised boneless beef short ribs in a sauce comprised of onions, garlic, guajillo and chipotle chilies, cumin, black pepper, dried oregano and Negra Modelo for his guajillo-braised beef taco. Guest chef Preeti Mistry of Juhu Beach Club satiated guests with unique creations like the Bollywood Baller Pav—a lamb meatball slider with ginger tomato sauce. Mistry says she paired Negra Modelo with the dish because the beer "blends with the rich spices of the meat and the pop of the mint, instead of overpowering the complex flavor." To top the evening off, attendees were treated to a special dessert of churros with a Negra Modelo caramel sauce. On Monday evening, Eater and Negra Modelo joined forces for Daring Pairings at Tacolicious in The Mission. Eater readers enjoyed bites that spanned two culinary cultures, and both paired perfectly with Negra Modelo.
