A new interactive map assembled by the Chron lays out the locations of the Bay's most notable literary haunts, many of which are, unsurprisingly, bars. Among the featured watering holes are John's Grill, where Sam Spade eats in Dashiell Hammett's "The Maltese Falcon," plus Beat hangouts like Vesuvio and Li Po Lounge. There's also Jack London's favorite: Heinold's First and Last Chance Saloon. Together, they should produce a hangover worth writing about. [Chron]
