Shutdown's Shut Down, Shut Down

Two days after defying the government shutdown and reopening its doors, the Cliff House has been forced to reverse its decision. "While the local Park Service officials have been sympathetic and helpful in relaying the Cliff House's concerns to Park Service Headquarters in Washington, D.C., the decisions are driven by D.C., which instructed that the facility must close," the restaurant stated. The Cliff House is estimated to be suffering $10,000 in lost revenue for every day it remains closed, just part of the $1.6 billion the shutdown's leached out of the U.S. economy. [Chron]
