Vote For the Chef of the Year in the Eater Awards

New, 2 comments

Next Monday, Eater will present the 2013 Eater Awards, our fourth annual celebration of all that's made America's restaurant world run—and run wild—in the past twelve months. Winners will be selected on both the local and national levels in five major categories, the voting for which began Monday.

Here's how the voting works across the board: Eater editors have named nominees for each of five major categories from restaurants and bars that either opened or moved since November 2012. Eater readers will vote, narrowing the nominees to three finalists. From those three finalists, the Eater editorial team will select a winner. Ready to play your part? This poll will be open for 24 hours; voting irregularities will be strictly policed.

Today, we commence the voting for Chef of the Year. Our five nominees: April Bloomfield, whose facility with Italian food has electrified Tosca Cafe; Manny Torres Gimenez, who serves killer tasting menus for a pittance at The Palace; Chris Kronner, whose delectable KronnerBurger pop-up became the cult hit of the year; Belinda Leong, who regularly sells out of her incredible pastries at b. patisserie; and Joshua Skenes, who's earned national acclaim for his meticulous sourcing and fire-driven cooking at Saison. Which SF chef shone the brightest in 2013? Time to vote:

Poll results

The polls close at 10 am PST on Wednesday, November 13. Stay tuned for our votes for Bartender of the Year, So Hot Right Now, and Stone Cold Stunner as the week rolls on. And if you haven't voted in the Restaurant of the Year poll yet, that remains open until 1 pm PST today.
