The Outer Richmond fog belt has a new warming hut: Fog City Baby, a Balboa Street cafe by locals Fernando and Shireen Fonseca. It's been quietly open in the former Crumbville for a few weeks, and offers breakfast and lunch options, plus desserts like soft serve ice cream and a Fog Baby sundae. In the morning, the cafe has a classic breakfast spread of bagels and pastries by Applebaum Bakery, plus espresso options from Catahoula Coffee. Come lunchtime, the menu includes a variety of Outer Richmond-themed sandwiches like the The Playland (tuna salad with melted swiss cheese on a rosemary focaccia panini) and The Windmill (chicken, cheddar cheese, pesto and sundried tomatoes on a ciabatta panini). The interior features murals of cherubs floating in the fog, plus leather couches and some outdoor tables for when the fog abates. In addition to classic cafe offerings, the spot will also be offering live music on select Saturday and Sunday afternoons. Hours are 7am to 7pm daily.
