Hopper's Place En Route to The Marina

The former Bechelli's location on Chestnut Street will soon be seeing new life in the form of a collaboration between Alvin Garcia and Tom Patella. Tablehopper brings word that the partners are plotting an American bistro to take the space, which is adjacent to the historic Presidio Theatre and shares its handsome Art Deco exterior.

Garcia is the former opening GM of Delarosa, Lolinda, and El Techo de Lolinda, and Patella has spent six years at the California Wine Merchant, so expect a sophisticated wine program and a shared plates vibe at the new spot (they're currently interviewing for a chef). There'll be seating for 49, and a long bar is in the works for the buildout, which they hope to wrap up for a February opening.
