Lower Haighters are in mourning today after Haighteration brought news of the sudden death of Memphis Minnie's owner and neighborhood fixture Bob Kantor. Kantor died after suffering a heart attack while on a Caribbean scuba diving trip with his wife. The restaurant's Facebook page pays homage to Kantor as a family man, Slow Food evangelist, walrus impersonator, lover of sake, cowboy and barbecue mentor. "Minnie's will not be going anywhere and we are all pushing forward together to keep Bob's dream alive. Stop in and raise a glass of sake or a slice of his brisket in his honor." [Haighteration]
