All eyes have been tracking the progress of Corey Lee's newest project, which has been slated to move in to the ground floor of the 300 Ivy development in Hayes Valley early next year. The name of the forthcoming spot will be Monsieur Benjamin, as originally reported by Hayeswire back in July. Now, Inside Scoop has more details about the Benu chef's newest venture.

Taking the reins in the kitchen will be chef Jason Berthold, formerly of RN74, the French Laundry and Per Se. Lee and Berthold plan to design a menu inspired by traditional French cuisine, along with the requisite focus on seasonal ingredients and some modern twists. Lee is aiming for a modern bistro ambiance with the new spot, including late hours and a neighborhood-friendly vibe.

The interior inspiration will come from Aidlin Darling Design, and the focus will be on enabling that casual, bistro feel: design of the the 95-seat space will focus on updating classic bistro motifs with a fresh twist. Lee is hoping to open up shop in the spring, so stay tuned for more on this one soon.
