Cronut mania may have dissipated a bit in recent months after its sweltering summer highs, but one spot still had a knockoff to sneak in: Pizzaiolo, which debuted its "cronini" with no publicity or fanfare as a treat for regulars over Thanksgiving weekend. EBX critic Luke Tsai got his hands on one and declared it "the first faux-cronut I've tasted that made me understand the hype...if [the public] makes enough of a clamor, maybe Pizzaiolo will bring the cronini back — at least for an encore or two."
