Originally announced in 2010, Magnolia Dogpatch is the most-delayed high-profile project in recent memory, but it looks like it's finally nearing the finish line. The brewery is in place, and put out its first beer this week (an English bitter called Maiden Voyage, on tap now at the Haight Street location). The accompanying BBQ restaurant from Namu Gaji's Dennis Lee also now has a name: it will be called Smokestack, referencing both the cuisine and a Grateful Dead song, and hiring is underway for a January opening.
