Makeovers

News of an ownership shuffle at Pop's had Mission dive bar regulars crying foul, but it turns out the bar won't change too much. New owner and Madrone proprietor Michael "Spike" Krouse told Mission Mission emphatically that "Pop's is not going away," saying that "any bar that has lasted 67 years has earned the right to continue and thrive." Haighteration has more details, including news that a remodel will begin in late January, although Krouse intends to retain that bar's general aesthetic. Cheap domestic beer will still be available when it reopens, albeit alongside more pricey craft beer and cocktails. [Mission Mission; Haighteration]
