Big news for the burgeoning Market & Van Ness corridor: Coi empire-builder Daniel Patterson has announced that he's snapping up the former Iron Wok space on Market between 10th and 11th, and plans to make it over into a "fun, casual" 70-seat restaurant, according to Inside Scoop. It's early days yet, but Patterson says that the space will have a full bar and cocktails, and he's targeting summer as an opening date.
The project will be Patterson's fifth, and his second in San Francisco; he also owns Plum, Plum Bar, and Haven in Oakland. The space, as we pointed out last month, has promise thanks to its proximity to Twitter's new HQ (provided any of the employees can be weaned off the free meals offered inside), and will run Patterson and co. in the neighborhood of $12K per month (with the option of leasing the gigantic billboard above neighboring Little Griddle). The facade's getting a remodel, too. We'll keep you posted on a name, chef, and other details as they come down the transom.
