Out of the ashes of the old Drip Coffee Bar, a new boba tea shop shall arise. After its runaway success in San Mateo, where lines to suck tapioca balls through giant straws are de rigueur, T Pumps (1916 Irving) is moving to the Outer Sunset. The shop is not moving to any mere neighborhood, mind you, but will be smack dab in the middle of a commercial stretch that already has four boba tea shops within a three-block radius. The menu includes fruit smoothies, cold milk tea, hot tea, boba, and juicy "popping boba."

While an early Yelper puts an opening date as February 14, Eater's peek past the paper in the window doesn't seem to indicate an opening that's under 48 hours away. It may well end up debuting before March, though, which happens to be when the high profile Boba Guys plan to open their first shop.
