Though its SF outposts all appear to be thriving, the Mina Group (Michael Mina's collection of restaurants that include his eponymous restaurant, RN74, Bourbon Steak, and the forthcoming The Company Bar & Kitchen) has had a harder time finding a toehold in the competitive Las Vegas market. After deciding to change his upscale-seafood Seablue concept in the MGM Grand to the more casual gastropub Pub 1842 back in August, Mina's announced that he'll be closing his similarly themed Nobhill Tavern, also in the MGM, on April 15.
It'll be replaced by a second location of Michael Morton's La Cave Food & Wine Hideaway. In addition to the forthcoming Pub 1842, three other Vegas restaurants remain in the Mina fold: a branch of flagship Michael Mina in the Bellagio, steakhouse Stripsteak in the Mandalay Bay and seafood spot American Fish at Aria. Mina also has restaurants in Scottsdale, Seattle, D.C., San Jose, and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.
