Bean Wire

Artisanal beanmongers Rancho Gordo, who supply pretty much every restaurant in town, are going brick-and-mortar with a new home in the Ferry Building this summer, according to Inside Scoop. In addition to beans, founder Steve Sando will sell heirloom corn, grains, chiles, spices, and stone-ground cacao. They'll be taking the space previously home to Scharffenberger chocolate, and as Tasting Table's Jonathan Kauffman put it in a tweet: "Everything about this piece of news makes me happy. Farewell, Scharffenberger (aka Hershey), hello, Rancho Gordo." [Scoop]
