As if today's Dennis Leary double-dip wasn't enough, Don Pisto's and Chubby Noodle owner Pete Mrabe is also moving forward on a pair of projects, which he discussed in detail with Tablehopper. The first is Central Station (formerly known as Lago Marsino), a deli and grocery in North Beach, which will initially make fresh pasta for wholesale accounts, then open to the public within the next couple of months to sell pasta and serve a handful of deli sandwiches, with some meats provided by charcutier Peter Temkin (who also does work for the Foreign Cinema folks' Machine Deli on 6th Street).
Meanwhile, Mrabe's finally settled on his choice of project for the Gatip Classic Thai space in the Marina: a second location of Chubby Noodle. The space will seat 49, and with the menu mostly the same as the original and only a few cosmetic changes needed, it could open as soon as early April. Unlike the original, however, Chubby Noodle Marina won't have a full bar, just a beer and wine license.
