After bailing on their Ghirardelli Square tea salon last May, Crown & Crumpet is returning to the scene next Friday with a smaller location, Crown & Crumpet Tea Stop Cafe, in Japantown's New People building. The new cafe will feature the same wacky decor and elaborate afternoon tea service as the original, as well as light lunch items, baked goods, and pots of coffee and tea. They're also still planning to revive the flagship in an undisclosed, bigger location sometime later this year. [EaterWire]
