Meatpaper's Fish Party; The Galley Turns 2

OAKLAND—Ramen Shop is hosting quite the shindig on Monday night to celebrate the release of the newest issue of Meatpaper ("the fishue"), with Tim Archuleta of Ichi Sushi, Doug Bernstein of Fish, and Jerome Waag of Chez Panisse dropping by to dish up TwoXSea-provided seafood, alongside beer from 21st Amendment and Trumer, booze from St. George Spirits, and wine from Scribe. THE MISSION—The Galley, the little pop-up nestled inside of infamous Valencia dive Clooney's, is turning two next week, and they're bringing in fellow food impresarios Rocky's Frybread and Fogcutter to serve up French onion sandwiches, pickled pepper eggs, fried chicken bao, and lots of other tasty stuff. BAYVIEW—If you love soul food, mark your calendar for the annual Black Cuisine party in the Bayview, which will be held next Saturday at the Dr. George W. Davis Senior Center. The event features home-cooked fare like fried chicken, BBQ, yams, fried catfish, jambalaya, cornbread, and sweet potato pie.
