Inside Speakeasy Brewing's Cool New Taproom

Local designer and DIY maven Kelly Malone is leaving SF for a little while to recuperate from cancer and financial troubles, and we took advantage of her massive goodbye party at Speakeasy Ales & Lagers to snag some photos of the new taproom she designed for the Bayview brewery. The space, which first opened a couple of weeks ago for SF Beer Week, features 12 taps of the brewery's finest, not to mention lots of fun little speakeasy-themed touches from Malone, like a buzzer to press "in case of raid," a cool neon "Shhhh!" sign, and a heaping helping of that SF standby, reclaimed wood.

While the taproom only offers beer, not food, you're welcome to bring your own fare; food trucks make an occasional appearance on Friday nights. There are also growlers for those who'd like to take some fresh brew home with them. Current taproom hours are 3-8 pm Tuesday-Thursday, 1-9 pm Friday and Saturday, and 1-6 pm Sunday.
