HEALDSBURG—Last July, the team at Barndiva made a short film examining how all the ingredients in one of their dishes (from Preston Vineyards, Mix Gardens, Earlybird's Place, Daniel's Flats, and Bellwether Farms) travel across Sonoma County, into the kitchen, and onto diners' plates. Now the film is up for an award in Saveur's 2013 Video Festival (warning: link leads to an autoplay video), with judges like Mario Batali and Ruth Reichl deciding whether it will take home the grand prize. The general public can vote, too, which we encourage you to do here. [Inside Scoop]
UNION SQUARE—Those unfamiliar with the many talents of chef Hubert Keller (Fleur de Lys, Burger Bar) may not know that he moonlights as a DJ. If you're interested in seeing Keller on the ones and twos, he'll be appearing at the Starlight Room next Thursday, as well as April 18 and June 6. The cover is $10, with half the funds going to Meals on Wheels. [EaterWire]
MENLO PARK—South Bay residents who don't usually get to take a trip up to the city for dinner should note that Roland Passot of La Folie will be popping into one of the restaurants in his more casual Left Bank chain, LB Steak, tomorrow night to prepare a $145 four-course dinner with wine pairings. Those interested in attending can learn more and see the menu here. [EaterWire]
NOE VALLEY—Omnivore Books is holding another cooking contest for their loyal crowd of literate chefs on Saturday afternoon; this one focuses on pudding. Bring a big bowl of your best recipe to share with the group, or pay $5 at the door to focus on sampling. [EaterWire]
