Top Chef alum Preeti Mistry is gearing up to open the doors of her first brick-and-mortar restaurant, Juhu Beach Club, tonight in Temescal. The street food spot features imaginative Indian-inspired dishes like vindaloo chicken wings with blue cheese raita, masala fries with tamarind ketchup, and slider-style sandwiches called "pavs." Curries, soups and salads round out the menu, along with a selection of lassis and chai. Juhu got their beer and wine license a little over a week ago, so expect a selection of local beers with a few Indian brews thrown in for good measure.

You can check out the full menu here and take a peek at the kids menu, complete with a monkey for coloring and a few games of samosa tic-tac-toe. During Juhu's days as a Mission pop-up, people buzzed about the Holy Cow pav (smoky black cardamom braised short rib, cucumber raita sandwich) and the Mumbai salad (seasonal greens, roasted root veggies, crunchy samosa strips, grilled green chili chicken), which both made the permanent menu. Popular drinks included the Nimbu Pani (cilantro lemonade, toasted cumin) and Sassy Lassi (sweet and salty alphonso mango, lime yogurt cooler).

Doors open tonight at 5:30. Mistry hopes to begin lunch service "probably in a month or so." [EaterWire]
