While the red-and-green decor at Roxy's Cafe reminds him of "a Tim Burton Christmas nightmare," Michael Bauer was charmed by the new menus from SPQR and Coi alum Manny Torres Gimenez, who left behind the buzz he created at Mr. Pollo to begin cooking there last month. The $25 four-course menu left him "a little hungry," and he's inclined to recommend the $75 tasting menu, as it's where "Gimenez's real talent is on display." Overall verdict: two stars for the "tinny flatware, flimsy paper and shaky tables," but two and a half for Gimenez's food. [Chron]
