Coffee Shop Saint Frank Headed to Polk and Union

Russian Hill's already high on the coffee hog with newcomer Firehouse 8, and now another new shop will be joining the fold: the cleverly named Saint Frank, from Ritual alum and 2012 United States Barista Championship competitor Kevin "Tex" Bohlin. He's planning to focus on "relationally sourced" coffee, which translates to coffee sourced from small holders and based on relationships with individual growers. (Ritual's coffee buyer, Steve Ford, has taken Bohlin with him on sourcing trips for the past four years as Bohlin plotted his own space.) Ritual will also handle the roasting, and the Saint Frank coffees won't be available elsewhere.

Saint Frank's space will be big, with a second-floor loft that will house additional seating and a coffee training lab. Bohlin will also offer a retail component with beans and coffee equipment. There's no opening date as of yet, but you can keep up with the shop via Twitter or their newsletter.
