After chef Marty Cattaneo left Dio Deka in Los Gatos last month, there was much speculation as to who would take his mantle at the restaurant, which notched a Michelin star in 2011 and 2012. Now a successor has been announced: Jeff Fitzgerald, who was previously chef de cuisine under Cattaneo. He came to the restaurant as a fresh-faced CCA grad in 2009 and worked his way from pastry to the second-in-command slot, so he clearly knows the ropes, even taking over temporarily in the restaurant's last chef shift. Dio Deka's focus will remain California-influenced Greek fare; no word yet on what changes Fitzgerald will make to the menu. [EaterWire]
