Though there aren't many details to share at the moment, it appears the folks at Sierra Nevada Brewing Company are planning to open their first taproom outside of their Chico headquarters, at Fourth and University in Berkeley. Sierra's communications manager, Ryan Arnold, tells Inside Scoop that the new space will be an "intimate tasting room" where folks can sample limited and specialty beers previously restricted to the Chico taproom. "Truly, outside of Chico and beer festivals, [rare Sierra beers] exist as pipe dreams to our fans," Arnold says. Dream no longer!

The space will be small, with no food and a walk-up bar, and the tentative opening date is still vague, with Arnold only offering "later this year" as a prognosis. And as for why Berkeley was chosen to receive this honor? The team digs the "central location and progressive community."
