After nearly 14 years, The Grove has announced that their flagship Chestnut Street location will close in early June, according to Inside Scoop. Business is good, but the landlord has increased their rent enormously (to $20K/month for 1,500 square feet), which owner Kenneth Zankel thinks is too much. Employees will be routed to the three other Groves in SOMA, Pac Heights, and Hayes Valley, and Zankel is pondering a new fourth location in the Dogpatch or along the Embarcadero. [Inside Scoop]
