It's been 14 months since Berkeley's Great China was destroyed by a grease fire, and now owners Michael and James Yu are putting the pieces back together at a bigger new location up the street (in the former Looney's BBQ space at 2190 Bancroft Way). The former menu and kitchen staff will remain, but the new space will be more modern, with recycled features and, most importantly, fire sprinklers. Target for reopening: August. [Berkeleyside Nosh]
