Eater National announced the selection committee for our Eater Young Guns awards today, and it can best be described as really, really awesome: from the Bay Area alone, we've got Alice Waters, Michael Mina, and Dominique Crenn repping the scene, and there are some other people on the list you might have heard of too, like David Chang, Danny Meyer, Suzanne Goin, and Mario Batali. (We'll pause for a brief shoulder-brush.)
As we've previously discussed, the awards are designed to identify the most promising up-and-comers in the restaurant and nightlife world, whether they're working as chefs or line cooks, sommeliers or bartenders, restaurateurs or maître d's. Check out last year's winners to get an idea of what we're looking for.
Nominees must be under 30 years of age (or if they're over 30, have worked in their chosen field for less than five years), and must be currently employed in the hospitality industry in the United States.
If you know a Young Gun in the making, fill out the nomination form here. Additional supporting materials can be sent to youngguns@eater.com. The deadline is next Friday, March 15, so get those names in now.
