As previously discussed, Daniel Patterson's Coi cookbook will be the first American cookbook to be released by Phaidon, the art press that's published cookbooks by Rene Rezdepi of Noma and Magnus Nilsson of Faviken. In this new video promoting the book, Patterson talks about why his restaurant has its name (it's an ancient French word for tranquility or quiet), and goes shopping at the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market with his family.
