Good news for the Castro: dim sum pop-up Mama Ji's, which had been operating inside of Queen Malika Cafe, is taking over its host, ditching the crepes and coffee and going full-on Chinese. Their chef is a Koi Palace alum, and we can testify firsthand that the dim sum is outstanding, especially for the location and price. (Jonathan Kauffman at Tasting Table shares that opinion.) Renovations are underway now, though it looks like they're not closing while they go down, at least for the time being. [Grub Street]
