The Berkeley beer boom is already at four new spots and counting, and now word comes that the People's Republic is getting a meadery (yes, as in honey wine) as well. Dan Cook of The Mead Kitchen is working with local beekeepers to create two varieties of mead, which should start popping up in local bars in May. He's brewing at Urbano Cellars in Berkeley, and may open his own place down the line. [Berkeleyside Nosh]
