THE MISSION—Artichokes: awesome. So say the people of Cynar, the Italian artichoke liqueur, who are teaming up with Chris Kronner (Kronnerburger), Kevin Cimino (St. Vincent), and the Jupiter Olympus squad of Morgan Schick (Trick Dog) and Eric Quilty (Adesso) to throw a party dedicated to the giant edible flowers on Monday, May 13. Kronner and Cimino will prepare a four-course artichoke-centric meal, paired with Cynar cocktails from the Jupiter folks, all for a very reasonable $30, which benefits Oakland food charity People's Grocery. Grab tickets here. [EaterWire]
SAN FRANCISCO—In case you missed out on the Burger Week special they did last week, the folks at Super Duper Burgers have another great promotion (this time, a free one!) with Super Duper Day on Monday. They'll be giving away 100 free mini-burgers (trust us, they're not all that mini) at each of their locations starting at 3 p.m.; in SF, that would be the Metreon, Castro, Marina, and Union Square. Line up early. [EaterWire]
SOMA—Bluxome Street Winery is offering a double dose of events this coming week. Tomorrow, they'll have another edition of their monthly Meet Market from noon to 5 pm, with wines by the glass and samples from purveyors like Love & Hummus, Milkshake Werks, and Oaktown Jerk. Then, next Friday, they're throwing a street-food block party from 11 am-2 pm, with Fins on the Hoof, Del Popolo, Satellite Republic, and Frozen Kuhsterd in the house and more vino to sample. THE EMBARCADERO—CUESA and Tacolicious are teaming up once again for their third annual Hecho en San Francisco Cinco de Mayo party, with proceeds, as always, benefiting La Cocina. La Palma, La Torta Gorda, Nopalito, Don Bugito, and Rancho Gordo are among the purveyors, while Corona and Victoria will provide Mexican brews and five tequila companies will serve up cocktails (including a frozen reposado sundae from Frozen Kuhsterd). Tickets are $55. [EaterWire]
