Lorenzo Logoreci and his crew at political power-dinner spot Allegro Romano are making an expansion play; after twelve years at their current location, they're opening up a sister spot, Ala Romana, in the former Rue Saint Jacques space at Jackson and Taylor. And like Acquerello's 1760 project and La Ciccia's La Nebbia expansion, it's going to be (surprise!) a casual enoteca.
Logoreci tells Inside Scoop that the small space will offer appetizers, 3-4 pastas and Roman-style pizzas, and other inexpensive fare, paired with Italian wines. He's hoping to open it in the next couple of months. As for the mothership, which we had heard was up for sale a month or so back, it'll continue on unchanged. Long live the Willie Brown bucatini.
