Beer Hall to Touch Down in May/June

The forthcoming Beer Hall is the apotheosis of 2013's two biggest trends so far: the land-grab in western SOMA (where Daniel Patterson and the AQ guys have been snapping up real estate) and the beer boom that's fostering tons of new nanobreweries, brewpubs, and beer bars, particularly in the East Bay. Inside Scoop got more details on the project today: it'll be a combo beer retailer and tasting bar, a mighty similar concept to nearby City Beer Store, down to the married-couple owners, Jennifer and Andrew Hall (yes, it's named for them, in the vein of Rich Table).

The 1,000-square-foot former leasing office in the Argenta apartment complex won't be huge, seating a maximum of 40. Like seemingly every other new bar in San Francisco this year, it'll be designed by Gi Paoletti (who must be tethered to an espresso IV drip to get all these places done), and will also feature a handful of wines and some snacks. The current target for opening is May or June, and it should pair nicely with the continued influx of tech workers looking for an after-work happy-hour spot.
